For the last 40 years, noted jewellery visionary Stephen Crane has had the good fortune to live and work in the Caribbean trading in fine jewellery. The Caribbean and fine jewellery being two of his great passions.

The islands of the Caribbean are some of the most beautiful places on earth and a terrific place to be a jeweller. Year round warm weather, golden sands and crystal clear waters make the area a vacation paradise.

Mr. Crane opened his first jewellery store, Colombian Emeralds International in Freeport Grand Bahamas and over the years expanded from one island to the next until and the business grew happily. So did our competition and it became increasingly more important for us to stand out from the crowd and to offer something more.

Amoro was born - the experience, the joy, the celebration of an event all culminated in the decision to focus entirely on a truly unique way to celebrate memorable moments. After so many years we finally ‘got it’, we were more than an ‘island jeweller’. We wanted to provide precious memories that will endure for a lifetime. We were to create every item of our jewellery to be a romantic celebration of the beauty of our craft and be worthy of the Amoro name. Amoro being the bond from the Latin words for love and gold.

Everyone agrees they want their special jewellery to be of “fine quality “, but what does that mean? We captured it to mean “the combination of excellence in materials, expertly crafted into a design of enduring beauty.”

There’s an extra appreciation and value in our personal jewellery. Thoughtful and beautiful tracings and designs grace the inside or back of each finely crafted piece so that it’s beautiful from every angle. Tiny heart shaped prongs that securely hold stones and an extra diamond “kiss” set into the side of many Amoro rings. Headquartered in Paris, Baccarat is a 200-year-old company that continues to delight and inspire customers all over the world with its exquisite creations. Started in 1765 by a bishop who wanted to encourage industry in the little French village of Baccarat, the company built its product line around glassware. By the 1800s, Baccarat was famous for its leaded-crystal glass and has been a leader in developing new crystal glass techniques ever since. Through the years, Baccarat became known for crystal paperweights, decanters and bottles and crystal sculptures of animals and birds. Company founder Salvatore Ferragamo made his way from Italy—where he had opened his first shoe shop at age 13—to the United States at age 14.
